Support to the EDP and the Smart Specialisation Strategy governance

The Targeted Assignment for the Molise region aims to support the implementation of the ERDF Regional Operational Programme by revitalising stakeholder interactions (EDP) and fostering institutional dialogue to enhance the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) governance. The recent political and administrative changes in the region have disrupted the governance structure and slowed down the implementation of S3, highlighting the need for strengthened coordination. The assignment included two workshops—one focused on governance and the other on EDP—alongside desk research to inform recommendations for enhancing Molise’s S3 governance and implementation strategies. The assignment has identified key challenges at both technical and participatory levels. Stronger political engagement is critical for fostering stakeholder involvement and ensuring a sustained Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP), which is essential for the successful implementation of the ERDF programme.
